Goldhedgehog contest entry

Sorry for the quality, this is watercolor again Originally I only wanted to practise some anthro again before finally finishing my trade with *Psychograve, but then it turned out like this... ._. A very lame and unoriginal entry for 's contest. She looks like a mix of Echonos and Tikal -.- And Echonos in the back(who is there for no reason) looks totally off

Well, when I first read the personality part of Echono's profile I thought "OMFG that's such a good description of myself!" XD I just had to draw something Well, I thought he'd need someone who's the complete opposite of him; A girl who would forcefully drag him to work, to activeness and just back to life... someone to show him that things can be good without being perfect (dang, I should start telling that to myself ._.) So this would be "someone just for Echono" because she would have trouble with an energetic guy and he's die with a kinda lazy girl XD Well, I don't think I managed to actually express what I wanted... but no matter how often I speak it, english is still not my native language

Physical Techniques

- Deep Sleep: Living in the desert means to have no assurance of always having enough food as well as opportunities to rest. Thus, when she's totally outpowered and hungry, she can fall into some special kind of sleep that will kep her body functions to a minimum and decreases the chance of dying from starvation. However there's a problem with waking her up again: Only the smell of the rare "desert rose" can bring her back to life. Also, there's danger of getting more than just a sunburn when not moving in the sun.

- Fur Color: Pretty self-explanatory... Her fur color makes it easy for her to hide in the desert.

Abilities and Aptitude

- Skratch: Her hands hold deadly claws that can be extended when necessary. They are made of a diamond-like material and can slip even stones. Very high-frequency sounds cause then to sliver and it takes a month till they are fully grown again.

Forms:

It can't be considered a real "form" but when she's shocked her red markings glow yellow for a second and somewhat blink afterwards until she's okay again, even if she tries to hide what she feels.

- Making Friends: Call it a talent or a curse, but wherever she appears the boys fall for her and girls wanna be her friends. This way she has no problems getting along anywhere, but she doesn't like this too much, as she never has any time alone and some people start to hate her for "stealing their friends" and "thinking she's so wonderful".

- Orientation: Teleport her into a random place in the desert with only sand, she'll always find her way home. Same goes for other areas, as she will always remember the way.

- Spiritedness: Shandeen is very energetic, lively and never gives up. Almost nothing can bring her down.

- Sometimes a bit too naive, which easily gets her into trouble
- Can’t swim, because it's not necessary where she lives
- Can't sing to save her life, but she loves singing

Personality:

Shandeen is a very lively person, as stated above already, and you almost don't notice when she's tired, though she would probably kep telling you. She might talk a bit too much, but she's already happy when others just listen. Recent experiences with other people have caused her to search for a way to spend more time with less tht 5 people at once, because they don't give her any possibility of doing what she wants. Her mother told her to go and get a job, but that would bind her to one place and she couldn't search for her father anymore which she has set as her one goal in life; hoping he's still alive. Though she is really not lazy when it comes to work and would do pretty much everything with dedication. She doesn't accept a "no" from others either and somehow always managed to convince them in the end. Shan doesn't like to take orders and people that only want things from her quickly fall into disfavor. Her behaviour is very natural and carefree as well as unconventional.

Physical Appearance

Color: Reddish-brown fur that shimmers orange in the sun, beige inner ears and muzzle
Eye Color: Sky blue
Hair/Quill Style: Four quills; two shorter ones on top and two longer ones with a slightely wavey shape at the bottom. Two hair strands on the front head standing in an upside-down v-shape. They're atually hanging down when wet.
Nose: Black, cat-like nose
Tail: Fluffy tail with a dark brown tip
Other bodily features: There's a red wavey stripe on the outer side of each of the longer quills and a red triangular shaped stripe on the inner side of both ears. In the middle of her front head there are three red eye-shaped markings with the one in the middle being the longest. There's an angle of about 30° between each of the stripes. Left and right of her eyes is a yellow stripe.

Attire: Green top with yellow triangle and circle design at the bottom and a fitting green skirt with yellow triangles on the waistband; both with dark green borders, simple brown sandals with straps going up about half of her shinbone, a silver necklace with a red gemstone embedded and silver, wide bracelets

Back Story:

There is not much of a story to tell because she was raised as a normal kid in a normal family. Her father got lost when he went after a group of robbers that stole quite a lot of money from them when she was 12. Ever since then she traveled almost everywhere hoping to find him. That was also the first time she left the little village that doesn't even have a name. Seeing how she was liked everywhere made her a little bit proud at first but this vanished soon without changing her temper in any way.
